Ingredients
- 1 pineapple, peeled and sliced into 8 to 10 rings
- ¼ cup brown sugar plus 2 tablespoons for sprinkling
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
Step 1: Cut the pineapple into rings or quarters, whatever shape you like best.
Step 2: Add the pineapple pieces to a large mixing bowl with melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix everything together until well combined.
Step 3: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and place the pineapple slices in a single layer.
Step 5: Sprinkle the extra brown sugar on top of each piece.
Step 6: Air fry at 380°F for 12 to 15 minutes until the slices are browned on the edges.
Step 7: You can turn the pineapple slices and cook on the other side for 1 to 2 minutes if you prefer both sides crispy.
Step 8: Serve with vanilla ice cream or enjoy by itself while warm.
Notes
- Pick a ripe pineapple that smells sweet at the bottom and gives slightly when pressed
- Don’t put too many pieces in the air fryer at once – cook in batches if needed
- Buy pre-cut pineapple from the store to save time
- Add a few drops of vanilla extract to the butter mixture for extra flavor
- Make sure all your pineapple slices are the same thickness so they cook evenly
- Always use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier
