- 14 ounces extra-firm tofu
- ½ tablespoon avocado oil
- 2 tablespoons tamari
- ½ teaspoon sriracha
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Press the tofu if you have time. Wrap the tofu block in a kitchen towel or paper towels. Put a heavy cast iron skillet on top and let it sit for 30 minutes. This step helps remove extra water from the tofu, which makes it crispier when you cook it.
- Heat your air fryer to 400°F.
- Mix the oil, tamari, and sriracha in a large bowl. Cut the tofu into cubes and add them to the bowl. Gently toss the tofu to coat all pieces with the sauce.
- Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and toss again until all pieces are coated.
- Put the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Leave some space between each piece and don’t pack them too tightly. If you have too much tofu, cook it in batches.
- Air fry for 11 to 15 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through cooking. The tofu is done when it looks golden brown and feels crispy around the edges. Different air fryers may need different cooking times.
- Repeat with any remaining tofu pieces.
