Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1–2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
Step 1: Get Ready
Heat your oven to 400°F. Set up three bowls for coating the chicken. Mix flour with all the spices in the first bowl. Beat eggs in the second bowl. Put panko breadcrumbs in the third bowl.
Step 2: Coat the Chicken
Take each chicken piece and coat it first in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs so they stick well. Put the coated chicken on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3: Bake
Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes. Flip it halfway through cooking. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F inside and looks golden brown.
Step 4: Make the Sauce
While chicken bakes, mix honey, hot sauce, and vinegar in a small pan. Heat it gently and stir until warm.
Step 5: Finish and Serve
Take chicken out of oven. Pour the hot honey sauce over each piece. Sprinkle feta cheese on top while the sauce is still warm.
Notes
- Don’t skip the parchment paper – it helps the chicken stay crispy on the bottom
- Let the coated chicken sit for 5 minutes before baking so the coating sticks better
- Make extra hot honey sauce because everyone will want more
- Check the chicken temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking
- Warm the honey sauce before serving so it spreads easily
