Ingredients
Dough and Filling:
- 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 8 small cubes of mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese)
Garlic Butter Glaze:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or fresh, finely chopped)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Optional Toppings:
- Grated Parmesan cheese for sprinkling
- Red pepper flakes for a little heat
Instructions
1. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This makes cleanup much easier and ensures your Garlic Cheese Bombs don’t stick.
2. Assemble the Bombs:
Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly with your hands or a rolling pin. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center of each dough round, then fold the edges around the cheese and pinch to seal. Roll gently between your palms to create a smooth ball.
3. Place on Baking Sheet:
Arrange the stuffed dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one for them to expand as they bake.
4. Make the Garlic Butter Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and Italian seasoning. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the tops of the dough balls with the garlic butter mixture.
5.Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.
6. Add Final Touches:
Once out of the oven, brush the Garlic Cheese Bombs with any remaining garlic butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if desired.
7. Serve:
Let them cool for a minute or two (if you can wait!) and serve warm. They’re best enjoyed fresh but still taste fantastic at room temperature.
Notes
- Sealing the Dough: Make sure to pinch the dough edges tightly around the cheese to prevent it from leaking out during baking.
- Don’t Overstuff: As tempting as it is to add more cheese, overstuffing can cause the bombs to burst open in the oven.
- Even Baking: Space the bombs evenly on the baking sheet to ensure they bake uniformly.
- Fresh Garlic: While garlic powder can work in a pinch, fresh minced garlic gives the glaze a richer, more vibrant flavor.
- Reheating: If you’re not eating them right away, reheat in a low oven (300°F) for a few minutes to bring back their softness and melt the cheese again.
