Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh ginger root (about 45 inches), peeled and chopped into small pieces
  • 2 cups filtered water (for blending or juicing)
  • Optional flavor enhancers:
    • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
    • Juice of 1 lemon (for a refreshing twist)
    • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder or fresh turmeric (for added health benefits)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ginger
    • Peel the ginger root using a spoon or vegetable peeler to remove the skin.
    • Chop it into small pieces to make blending or juicing easier.
  • Juicing Option
    • Feed the chopped ginger pieces into a high-quality juicer.
    • Collect the ginger juice in a clean container.
  • Blender Method
    • Combine the chopped ginger with 2 cups of filtered water in a blender.
    • Blend on high speed until you get a smooth mixture.
  • Strain the Juice
    • Place a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth over a bowl. Pour the ginger mixture into the sieve.
    • Press the pulp to extract as much juice as possible. If using cheesecloth, gather the edges and squeeze tightly.
  • Customize Your Drink
    • Add honey, maple syrup, or lemon juice to taste. You can also mix in turmeric for an earthy, anti-inflammatory boost.
  • Serve and Enjoy
    • Pour the ginger juice into a glass and serve over ice, or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Storage: Fresh ginger juice lasts 3–5 days in the fridge. For longer storage, freeze it in ice cube trays for up to 6 months.
  • Concentrated Shots: Use the juice as is for a potent ginger shot. Start with 1–2 ounces per day, adjusting to your preference.
