  • Diet: Vegetarian

Ingredients

Scale

    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise, preferably whole egg (this type is creamier and smoother!)

    • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard – it adds a nice sharpness that complements the honey beautifully.

    • 2 tablespoons honey – the star ingredient that brings natural sweetness to the mix.

    • 12 teaspoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice – start with 1 teaspoon and add another if you want extra tang.

    • A pinch of salt and white pepper (or black pepper if you don’t have white).

Instructions

Making this Honey Mustard Sauce couldn’t be simpler. Here’s how you can do it:

  1.  Start by gathering all your ingredients.
  2.  Grab a bowl that’s big enough to hold them comfortably.
  3.  Add the mayonnaise first it forms the base of our sauce.
  4.  Stir in the Dijon mustard until it’s fully incorporated.
  5.  Drizzle the honey into the mixture while whisking gently; this ensures an even consistency and prevents clumping.
  6.  Once those three key components are blended, introduce some acid by adding 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
  7.  Taste the sauce after mixing it thoroughly. If you want it tangier, add another teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice.
  8.  Season lightly with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors further.
  9.  Give it one last good stir, and your Honey Mustard Sauce is ready to use!

Notes

Always choose high-quality ingredients when possible. For example, artisanal honey or freshly squeezed lemon juice can greatly improve the taste.

Adjust the ingredient ratios according to your personal preference. If you love tangy sauces, consider doubling the vinegar or mustard content. For a milder flavor, use only 1 teaspoon of vinegar.

Pay attention to the consistency of the sauce. If it’s too thick, add a little water or milk to thin it out. Conversely, if it’s too runny, incorporate more mayonnaise or mustard to achieve the desired thickness.
