Optional Butter Pecan Layer:

Instructions
- Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Make the Cobbler Base:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk, vanilla, and egg until just combined. The batter will be thick.

- Add the Butter Pecans (Optional):
- In a small pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped pecans and toast for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant.

- Bake:
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
- Serve:
- Serve warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for added indulgence.
Notes
- Texture Tip: For a crispier topping, ensure you use cold butter when making the cobbler base and cinnamon-sugar topping. This creates a flaky, tender texture.
- Flavor Variations: For a seasonal twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the cinnamon-sugar topping during fall or winter. In the summer, fresh berries like blueberries or raspberries make a great addition to the cobbler base.
- Make-Ahead Tip: You can prepare the cobbler up to a day ahead. Store it in the fridge and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes before serving.
