- 1.5 TBSP maple syrup: Adjust to taste for sweetness.
- 2 TBSP cold water: For blending the strawberry mixture.
- Ice: To keep the drink chilled.
- 1/2 cup dairy-free milk (or any milk): Oat milk adds creaminess, but almond or coconut milk work too.
Instructions
- Prepare the Matcha:
In a bowl, whisk 1.5 tsp matcha with 1.5 TBSP hot water until smooth. Add the remaining 1.5 TBSP hot water and mix. This ensures no lumps. - Make the Strawberry Purée:
Blend strawberries, maple syrup, and cold water in a blender (or mash with a fork) until smooth. - Layer the Drink:
- Add strawberry purée to a glass, followed by ice.
- Slowly pour in milk to create a distinct layer.
- Gently pour the matcha on top of the milk for a layered effect.
- Garnish & Serve:
Top with fresh strawberries or a sprinkle of matcha for a finishing touch.
Notes
Use ceremonial-grade matcha: Lower-quality matcha can taste bitter.
Adjust sweetness: Add more maple syrup if your strawberries aren’t very sweet.
