Ingredients
Scale
- 8 slices Texas toast
- 4 ounces pizza sauce
- 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices pepperoni
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the Texas toast slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over each slice, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle approximately ½ ounce of mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each slice.
- Top each pizza with 3 pepperoni slices, arranging them however you like.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use frozen Texas toast for the best results – it has the right thickness and butter content.
- Don’t overload with toppings or the bread won’t crisp properly underneath.
- For extra crispy edges, brush the exposed bread borders with a little olive oil before baking.
- If cheese starts browning too quickly, tent loosely with foil for the last few minutes.
- Make a double batch and freeze the extras – they reheat beautifully for quick lunches.
- Pat pepperoni dry with paper towels to prevent excess grease pooling on top.
