Instructions
Baking the cupcakes:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a big bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
In another bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup oil, 2 eggs, and 1/2 cup milk.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each about 2/3 full with batter.
Bake for about 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean.
2. Making Bluey-colored frosting:
In a bowl, beat the softened butter until it’s creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.
Add the vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix well.
If the frosting seems too thick, add a little more milk. If it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Now for the fun part – making it Bluey blue! Add a few drops of blue food coloring and mix well. Keep adding small amounts of blue coloring until you get the right shade to match Bluey’s fur.
3. Decorating tips and tricks:
Start by covering each cupcake with a layer of blue frosting. You can use a piping bag for a neater look, or just spread it on with a knife.
For Bluey’s eyes, you can use small chocolate chips or dots of black frosting.
Use pink frosting to make a small tongue sticking out.
Get creative with the rest! You could use candies to make Bluey’s collar, or add white frosting for highlights.
